Olga and I have been spending some time on the Med coast of Languedoc.
One thing that made life difficult was the amount of dogshit on the pavements. Sightseeing was ruined by having to watch constantly for the little 'landmines' planted in the centre of pathways. We never saw dogs roaming free so this must happen when owners are with their dogs!
Even in the ancient citadel of Carcassonne, with its winding cobbled alleys, we found the disgusting stuff lying in wait round every corner.
It did remind me that this used to be the way things were here not too long ago. We are much better at cleaning up now. There were some disposal bins and signs in the town of Marseillan, asking for owners to clean up but they need to be educated to do it.
